Pembrey - Race 1 Report

Pembrey Race Circuit, South Wales

Race 1 - Saturday 28th July

The sun was shining at Pembrey for the first round of the 2007 Formula Woman Novice Championship. This race would be the first for each of the 16 novice drivers and the first UK race to run exclusively on E-85 bio-ethanol.

This was my first time at Pembrey circuit and the day's training on the Friday had proved invaluable.

Having qualified at 12th I was raring to work my way up the field. I was soon having a superb race and by the end of lap 6 I had moved up to 7th place from 12th on the grid. I then passed 2 more cars and was in 5th place.

I undid my hard work and lost 5th place due to a spin in some kicked up mud at Hatchetts hairpin on lap 11. I ended up taking 9th place which was a fair result but disappointed at losing 5th place.

Race 1: Qualified 12th. Finished 9th.
