Profile

Personality:
I am outgoing, energetic and competitive. I love to laugh! I am eager to learn and determined to enhance my driving ability. I have intense and devoted passion towards my driving.

My work life:
I have been working for a large Defence company for the past 4 years. Having worked hard to prove myself, I am enjoying the responsibility and the challenges within the role.

Being a female in a male-orientated environment was at first a struggle but as I have learnt to assert myself and use my initiative I am proud of what I have achieved.

Heroes:
There are many people who are inspirational to me. Varying from those close to home (hello mum and dad!) to more famous names. You may have noticed a quote by Pablo Picasso on this site. I find his words are, to this day, very motivational. He promotes action and truth with wisdom and insight.

I think this is an appropriate point to acknowledge the sad loss of Colin McRae. He was a worldwide icon of motorsport but still remained a family man lost in a tragic accident.

I supported Lewis Hamilton all the way in his first F1 season and I am looking forward to the 2008 F1 season. He has had a most fortunate rise to fame and I respect and admire him for his dedication. Female rally driver Michèle Mouton also deserves a mention for helping females make it in motorsport!

The all-time greats also get my respect... James Hunt, Ayrton Senna, Jim Clark and Kevin Schwantz. Classic drivers/riders who made it to the top.

Hobbies:
In any spare time I have, I am an amateur photographer; I like to photograph mainly nature and occasionally motor sport. I relish the creativity that can be applied to all aspects of photography. I attend local motor shows and races when I can as I savour any motor events.

I enjoy cycling and generally keeping fit; especially body boarding in Cornwall. I escape life by reading a good book, and I always put aside time to look after my race car. When I'm not doing any of these hobbies or working, I love to socialise with my friends and get out and about exploring the country.

Driving Skills:
I like to think that I am a confident, controlled,

quick driver. I am sometimes tempted to push my car on the roads, and I try to save these thoughts for the track.

Aside from the Championships, I have completed various track days around the country. I enjoy the track days immensely and I think I learn a lot; about racing lines, driving round obstacles, pacing the car and controlling the adrenaline rush that driving fast around the track inspires! I receive great feedback from my instructors as well, who mention a natural ability to pick up new driving skills quickly and confidently. I will continue to attend these track days to help enhance my driving skills.

Formula Woman Championship:
Now that I have competed in the Formula Woman Championship, I am slightly over-awed but it has been a fantastic learning curve for me. To have all the support of my friends and family has been great, and I hope I can continue to improve and show the world I can race! I realise not many people get the chance to fulfill a dream but with a lot of hard work, here I am living my dream of racing. I feel very lucky; to feel the thrill and adrenaline rush of driving in a race has been the best experience of my life so far.

Having enjoyed the Formula Woman 2007 season so much, I have decided to continue racing this year.
