Once again the sun was shining for round 3 of the Formula Woman Championship at Snetterton. Having only had one hour
of testing, the track was still new to me!
I had a fantastic start from 12th on the grid, and got up to 4th place
within the first few corners! But an unfortunate incident on lap 1 at the Esses between Jenny Grace and myself left Grace
in the pits with a steering problem and me bringing up the rear of the field with my exhaust hanging off! Grace had gone too
fast into the corner, careered sideways into me and mounted my exhaust.
I was determined to finish the race, despite
the sparks flying from my car! The crowd and mechanics were unaware my car was damaged as the damage was to the left side
of my car and the pits and stand were on the right. I worked hard and clawed my way up to finish 11th.
My fastest
lap was faster than several of the drivers who had finished above me (but had not been involved in an incident).
Race
3: Qualified 12th. Finished 11th.
