Snetterton - Race 4 Report
Snetterton Race Circuit, Norfolk
Race 4 - Sunday 12th August
Qualifying was dry on Sunday morning but the heavens opened just an hour prior to the start of Race 2. These wet conditions
were new to a lot of us and there were a few anxious faces in the paddock. Luckily the rain subsided and there was a dry line
for the start of the race.
I qualified 9th and got a great start up to 4th place, then fell to 5th. I kept 5th place for several laps, having to
do some accident avoidence tactics when a pile-up from some people I was lapping happened right in front of me!
On lap 10 I found I had trouble getting into gear and when we hit the straight a few cars managed to pass me. I overtook
them again round the corners but found my gearbox was not working correctly. I was double-dipping and triple-dipping the clutch
to try to get in gear. This didn't affect me too much round the corners as I could hold the cars off behind me by being defensive,
but down the straights I lost power and didn't stand a chance. I finished 9th. This was not a bad finish position considering
the condition of the car.
All in all, a very unlucky weekend but at least I finished both races this time! I am learning, and each race is a new
experience. I am getting better each race!
Race 4: Qualified 9th. Finished 9th.
